The Encyclopedia of Puget Sound is published by the University of Washington’s Puget Sound Institute and represents the collective knowledge of leading experts from state and federal agencies, academic institutions and Puget Sound area tribes. It is intended as a primary source for synthesized and integrated scientific information about the Puget Sound and Salish Sea watersheds.
The Center for Web & Data Science is partnering with Puget Sound Institute to help manage the volume, velocity and variety of the Encyclopedia of Puget Sound data. This involves designing efficient collection, categorization and storage mechanism for consumption of various data sources, development of Mobile Apps and Browser tools to help Promote synthesis and improve access to the best available, most relevant scientific information in support of the protection and restoration of the Puget Sound ecosystem.
